Course Overview
The Master of Applied Finance and Banking (MAFB) program will help you develop a detailed understanding of banks and related financial intermediaries. You will investigate a range of banking and finance issues such as investment management, analysis and strategy, international banking management (practice, lending and securities), quantitative economic analysis, financial management, and risk assessment.

Accreditation and Recognition
This program is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and is fully recognised within the UAE, GCC nations and internationally for further education and employment in the private and public sectors.
In addition, the program is quality assured by UOW, which is registered with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national regulator of the higher education sector in Australia. UOWD graduates have the opportunity to exchange their UOWD degree for the equivalent UOW degree after completion.
Subjects
You are required to complete 10 subjects in total. Students typically complete two subjects in a semester which consists of 13 teaching weeks. Each subject requires one evening of attendance per week for 13 weeks. Classes are held 6-9pm, Sunday - Thursday. At this rate, students are able to complete the degree program in five semesters. The following eight subjects form the core subjects within the MAFB program:

Multinational Financial Management
International Banking
Bank Lending and Securities
Economic Analysis of the Business
Quantitative Economic Analysis
Advanced Portfolio Management*

(*Capstone Subject)
In addition, you will choose two elective subjects from the following list:
