The Master of Physical & Health Education is offered by distance education* or by flexible delivery on-campus. It is a course for physical and health education teachers, recreation workers, sports administrators, etc in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and other Asian countries.


Students undertake a core subject, Introduction to Research and Inquiry (6 credit points), 24 credit points of prescribed Education subjects and 18 credit points of electives.

The Faculty of Social Sciences' School of Education coordinates research and study in a way which provides an orderly and coherent exposure to critical issues in contemporary theory and practice. It also aims to provide an avenue for the professional development of teachers, educational administrators and policy makers.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

A four year undergraduate degree with a recognized teaching credential in Physical and Health Education. Special consideration may be given to applicants who have, for example, substantial experience in the field.

CREDIT TRANSFER

Candidates who have completed relevant postgraduate study and some other accredited professional development courses may be eligible for advanced standing. Full documentation and information should be provided on application.

Specialisation requirements must still be met by the candidate, ie normally this credit cannot be substituted for a compulsory subject within a program or form part of a specialisation within a program.
