The Early Childhood specialisation prepares graduates to work in a diverse and changing range of services for the education and care of children from birth to eight years. The specialisation has been designed to develop skilled, committed and flexible education professionals with the knowledge and pedagogical skills to promote effective and inclusive learning for teaching students from birth to eight years-of-age.
Early Childhood -
The Early Childhood specialisation prepares graduates to work in a diverse and changing range of services for the education and care of children from birth to eight years. The specialisation has been designed to develop skilled, committed and flexible education professionals with the knowledge and pedagogical skills to promote effective and inclusive learning for teaching students from birth to eight years-of-age.
Primary & Middle -
Applicants for the Primary and Middle specialization require a
three-year degree from a recognized tertiary institution. In addition to
a three-year degree, Primary and Middle applicants need two learning
areas in their undergraduate degree from the following learning areas:
Arts (Dance, Drama, Music or Visual Arts), English, Mathematics, Health
and Physical Education, History/Geography, Languages, Design and
Technology and Science. The Primary and Middle specialisation prepares
graduates to teach in the primary and middle years of schooling, from
Reception to Year Ten taking into account the diverse needs of
pre-adolescent and adolescent learners.
Secondary Applicants
for the Secondary specialisation require a three-year degree from a
recognised tertiary institution. In addition to a three-year degree,
Secondary applicants need two learning areas in their undergraduate
degree from the following learning areas: Arts (Dance, Drama, Music or
Visual Arts), English, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education,
History/Geography, Languages, Design and Technology and Science –
Physics, Chemistry
Even though the admission criteria is IELTS 7.0 in individual bands the student withOverall Band 6.5 can enter with a 10 weeks English course at CELUSA , without sitting for IELTS again.
