MSc Nursing University College Dublin

This MSc Nursing programme builds on appropriate undergraduate level study and personal professional experience to enhance the student’s leadership skills and research capacity for the development of nursing knowledge. The academic content of the course is broad and varied, but there is a few key areas in which there is particular emphasis on – leadership, Quality issues, Change Management, Health Assessment, Caring for an aging population and Women, Gender and Health. There is a very strong focus on clinical skills in the course but these will be taught in top class University Laboratories. This course is designed to develop and enhance a student’s nursing practice knowledge and skills. Sharpening analytical and critical thinking skills while developing essential knowledge and skills, enabling students to provide high quality care and positive outcomes in clinical practice. This degree is delivered over two academic years, leaving students with the summer terms free.

Course content:
Modules worth total of 90-92.5 ECTS:
1. Research Methodologies- 15 ECTS
2. Leadership and Health Systems Dynamics -7.5 ECTS
3. Quality, Patient Safety and Outcomes- 7.5 ECTS
4. Symptom Management: Nursing Interventions- 7.5 ECTS OR Health Assessment 10 ECTs (level8)
5. Quality of Life and Outcomes Evaluation 7.5 ECTS
6. Women Gender and Health 7.5 ECTS
7. Making a Difference 7.5 ECTS
8. Researching change in own organisation 7.5 ECTS
9. Cognition and Mental Health in older people 7.5 ECTS
10. Leading and Health an MDT Imperative 7.5 ECTS
11. Research Methods- 7.5 ECTS

 Tuition fee: Euro 15,500. (To be paid to the college)
 10,000 year 1 & 5,500 year 2

Study Duration:

Eligibility:
 BSc degree in Nursing
 Registered with the Indian Nursing Council
 IELTS score of 6.5 (no band less that 6.0)
 2 years post work registration experience
